Class of 2007 - Monica Ponce de Leon
As of June 2008: “I am currently attending PCC where I enjoy it very much! I was elected the academic commissioner representing the Department of Visual Arts and Media Studies. I am also working to transfer next year. During my high school years in South Pasadena I grew immensely as an artist. I learned how to take risks and reflect my personality in my art. My art is close to my heart and very important to me."

Class of 2006 - Jessica Kwong
Kwong demonstrated a strong combination of multiple talents in the arts and diverse community service. Like Veir at SPHS, Kwong enjoyed being in the band, Spanish Club, and doing set designs for plays. Kwong also helped teach art to children, a key passion of Veir’s. Kwong volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, Rotary Club, and Goodwill Industries. As Veir’s commitment was to Camp Fire Girls, Kwong’s was to the Girl Scouts. Kwong’s sculpture was featured at the Office of the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles.

Class of 2005 - Kay Nahm
The first Maggie Veir Art Scholarship went to Kay Nahm, Class of 2005. She was a drama student chosen by her teachers for her special talents, her sparkling personality, and her work with teaching drama to children.
Nahm was truly surprised and excited on Scholarship Night when her name was called out and a loud crescendo of applause erupted. She later wrote, “Thank you again and a hundred times more for recognizing my artistry. [I will] truly work hard to uphold Maggie Veir’s name.“
